For almost 40 years at MILO we have been honoring the timeless recipes created in our laboratory with the purest raw materials. The daily consumption of all our products in the local market has made us synonymous with quality which we have maintained at a top position for decades now. 

It all started in 1965, when the market of Neapolis, Lasithi, Crete, was filled with smells and aromas of fresh handmade bread and wonderful traditional pastries, when everyone exchanged their first good mornings with the unforgettable Kostas Mari, the man who started the history of baking in the Maris family.

The contact of the Maris family with the bakery sector begins in the early 1960s with the bakery of Kostas Maris in Neapoli Lasithiou. 

The owner of the MILO company, Michalis Maris, was only 16 years old when he studied alongside his father who was one of the best craftsmen of the time in the wider region. There he gained valuable experiences that were decisive for his later development. 

After the first five years of training and searching, the path of creation opened. He took his first organized initiative in the field of confectionery in the year 1986, where he opened the galateria "MILO" on the beach road of Agios Nikolaos. 

In March 1988, the first confectionery workshop "MILO" was established on Epimenidou Street in Agios Nikolaos, which supplies its products to various points of sale outside the workshop.

In 1993, due to the recognition and the growing demand for the products, the needs grew and it was necessary to move the laboratory to a larger space in the Glymata area in Agios Nikolaos.

But the development does not stop there. The needs continue to grow and the laboratory space is not enough. Thus, since April 2001, the laboratory has been transferred to the modern and now privately owned facilities in the Langos area of ​​Agios Nikolaos, which have been built in accordance with the strict European standards that govern food businesses. 

It was Neapoli's turn, once again, where the Mari family started, so that the flavors of Milos find their home with the store on the street of the central market starting as a bread and sweets station. After years, the store is moved to the central imposing square of Neapolis, with a large interior and exterior space for the visitor to enjoy his culinary choices.
